Harbouring Canadian Talent – Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2014 Collections

1. What is World Mastercard Fashion Week?

Toronto Fashion Week (aka World Mastercard Fashion Week) is the second largest fashion week in North America is a elaborate mix of new emerging designers like Albertan born Sid Neigum and Montrealean Melissa Nepton, along with household names, such as Canadian Power houses Joe Fresh and Rudsak.

As usual all the most fashionable peeps strutted out of the wood work to be part of Canada’s biggest exhibition of fashion and style. I loved the atmosphere of Toronto Fashion week, as well as bagging as many freebies as humanly possible. I would like to thank Tourism Toronto for hooking me up with my media pass.

2. Why is it Important?

I got the chance to interview some stylish on point Canadians during Fashion Week to find out why they felt the event was so important. Apart from it being glamourous, fun and stylish the underlying and more substantial reason was that it does a lot to put Canada on the map as a fashion capital. it allows local designers to showcase their talent to their fellow Canadians and the rest of the world.

3. How to Get Tickets

The next World Mastercard Fashion Week takes place from 17 – 21st March 2014. If you get the chance I would suggesting getting to AT LEAST one show. Rudsak was a huge favourite of mine last year, so I will try my best to make it to their show on Thursday 20th. General admission tickets are $50 per show, which also allows you access to the bars in the general area and the make up stands etc. http://www.ticketweb.ca
